VanixTrack is a mobile application developed by Vanix Technologies Private Limited for visualizing and monitoring data received from GPS tracker devices offered by Vanix. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and the rights of users under relevant data protection laws.

2. What Information We Handle

VanixTrack does not collect any personal data from your mobile device beyond what is necessary to operate the app. Here's a breakdown:

We collect and handle:

• User Account Data: such as name and email address when you create or log into your account.
• Internet Connectivity: to fetch live location data of your assigned GPS tracking devices.
• App Usage Analytics: collected via Firebase for performance and crash analytics.

We do not collect:

• Your mobile phone’s IMEI, battery level, signal strength, or sensor data.
• Any device-side location or accelerometer data from the phone.

Data from GPS Tracker Devices:

The app displays real-time and historical information sent by Vanix GPS devices installed in vehicles, carried by individuals, or attached to assets. This may include:

• Device location (latitude, longitude)
• Speed, direction, and movement status
• Device battery and signal level
• Accelerometer-based motion or fall detection alerts

This data is collected and transmitted to our secure backend server over HTTPS.

3. Use of Data

The data is used to:

• Display live and historical GPS device data
• Enable features like location playback, fall alert status, or battery warnings
• Improve app performance and user experience via analytics

We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party marketers.

4. Third-Party Services

VanixTrack uses:

• Google Maps SDK: to display map views and location tracking
• Firebase (Google): for crash reporting, error tracking, and basic usage analytics

• Device tracking data may be stored and archived as per our clients’ contractual requirements.

VanixTrack is not designed for direct use by children under 13. However, GPS devices monitored via VanixTrack may be assigned to children (e.g., school IDs), and data is accessed only by authorized guardians, institutions, or clients.

11. Permissions Disclosure

VanixTrack does not request any device permissions beyond what is required to access internet connectivity and location mapping via Google Maps. The app does not request location, camera, microphone, or storage access on the user’s mobile device.

12. Battery Optimization Exemption

VanixTrack requests to be exempted from Android’s battery optimization settings. This is necessary to ensure the app can:

• Display the latest device location continuously
• Receive and process live alerts from connected GPS trackers
• Maintain device sync even when the app is running in the background

We do not use this permission for any background activity unrelated to your device’s GPS data or alert functions. This exemption is requested only when required and always shown as a user prompt, where you can choose to deny or allow.
